3/4/14: Contacted the facility where I will be volunteering for my service learning
hours, hoping to touch base with the department head. I am hoping to be involved with planning/organizing
what is needed before the actual “planting” occurs! Connie was not available to visit with, but I
will continue to try to make contact.

Discussed with my preceptor possible start of service hours. I was told
in March I would be needed the most. There is a plan to continue
with a new project started last year by the staff at the activity
center which is a community "garden" the residents are
doing. The residents enjoyed the new activity/project last year, gleaned
a "crop," shared the produce as well as enjoyed eating the fresh
healthy food themselves at the end of the season! I am excited to
